EATING
Monkfish is a mild, firm and dense fish. It’s sometimes called ‘poor man’s lobster’, but you’ll need to eat it yourself to be the judge of that. Its firm texture means it’s super versatile, but we think it’s particularly good roasted, barbecued, or in curries. It’s skinless, boneless and packed in a handy 2kg box that easily fits in the freezer. Our 2kg boxes are graded 50-200g per fillet. ring fish up to room temperature (just like meat) before cooking for best results.
STORING
Store our frozen Monkfish in the freezer until you’re ready to use it. It’s best defrosted in the fridge. If you’re short on time, pop fillets into a sealed bag and submerge in water that’s a bit cooler than room temperature. Change the water every 20-30 minutes and weight the fish down so it’s fully submerged in the water (not bobbing about).
